L’Europa va al G8
Barroso e Rampuy negli Usa
Bruxelles – E’ notizia dell’ultima ora che il presidente della commissione Ue, José Manuel Barroso, e il presidente del consiglio europeo Herman Van Rompuy parteciperanno sia agli incontri di Camp David, sia al G8 di Washington. E’ una buona avvisaglia per chi vuole una “politica estera europea”, e per chi vuole un ruolo più attivo dell’Europa nelle trattative di pace, ora che la Siria appare in cerca di un dialogo, mentre tra Israele e Palestina le mediazioni internazionali sono spesso state molto utili. Per un mondo più pacifico, speriamo che l’Europa porti il suo patrimonio – con l’eccezione dei Paesi slavi – di sane abitudini di pace, dal 1945 ad oggi. Ma è anche vero che negli ultimi G8 le politiche neoliberiste hanno trovato sempre terreno fertile e porte spalancate, spingendo l'economia reale nelle braccia delle multinazionali, confinando sempre più la ricchezza nelle mani di una élite mondiale di lobbisti e banchieri, con i risultati che sono oggi sotto gli occhi di tutti.
